Hello,
My name is Aaron Woodward and I am the owner of Pristine Sweeps. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your interest in our business, and welcome you to our “About Us” page! The following tells a bit about my own personal history and education, and how I fell into this wonderful trade of chimney sweeping. It also explains how this company was founded and on what morals we back our operations. Enjoy!
About The Owner
Originally from Seattle, Aaron moved to Roseburg, Oregon at the age of 7, where he went on to complete high school and start a summer painting business. After graduation, Aaron moved to Eugene to attend college and earn a business degree at the University of Oregon.
Having worked with his parents on their real estate and rental properties business for most of his life, Aaron developed a passion for the contracting industry and a desire to manage his own operation. So, after college, he headed back to Seattle to start a new life, and hopefully a new business. Backed by an immense amount of construction skills, project management experience, and business training, Aaron quickly began his search for his niche market. Before long, he was given a referral to a chimney sweeping position for a local sweeping company.
Although Aaron found chimney sweeping, fireplace repair, and masonry to be his new-found passion, after only three months with the company, he began to see serious faults in the business: high-pressure sales, misinformation, poor customer service, improper equipment, and incorrect training. He resigned from this position and set out to start his own company with a distinct goal in mind
“To create a company that is educated, experienced, and honest, and to provide our customers with the information, opinions and solutions needed to make educated decisions about their home hearth appliances.”
And Aaron did just that. With a focus on continued education and research, the team at Pristine Sweeps is consistently perfecting their processes and crafts – to provide the Seattle, WA area with the highest level of service and workmanship.
Today, Aaron lives in Shoreline, where he continues to work long hours to ensure that the quality and goals of his company are consistently met. He also enjoys being in the outdoors with his partner, Cat, and their dog, Brisket.

Pristine Sweeps was founded in 2008 with an exciting new mission statement:
“To provide superior service and ensure safety through our knowledge, education & integrity.”
At Pristine Sweeps, knowledge and education are top priorities. We believe that in order to become an educated professional (who can, in turn, educate clients), one must learn from industry professionals. Since chimney sweeping is an unregulated trade (meaning certifications aren’t required), essentially anyone with a brush, a vacuum and a website can become a chimney sweep. In fact, chimney sweeps aren’t even required to carry liability insurance!
But here at Pristine Sweeps, that simply isn’t acceptable. We make use of all available resources, guilds, trainings, and certifications. In fact,
- We are one of the only companies in Seattle that belongs to the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG).
- We are one of the only companies in Seattle that attends the 5-day National Chimney Sweep Convention EVERY year.
- We are one of the only companies in Seattle that is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA).
